This query is : Resolved

09 September 2011 FCRA Section 11 prescribes that no person, save as otherwise provided in the Act, shall accept foreign contribution unless such person obtains a certificate of registration or prior permission of the Central Government and therefore, acceptance of foreign contribution without obtaining registration or prior permission from the Central Government constitutes an offence under the Act.

does it mean that henceforth if i want to take some money as a gift from my NRI brother, i will have to first obtain registration or prior permission from the Central Government?????

04 October 2011 No, that is permitted under section 4 of FCRA Act 2010.
