09 March 2010 we are an exporter of fresh fruits,vegitables & sea products.

We incur charges for freezing the goods so that they can be exported.

Now the person who is providing the freezing service is collecting service tax on the same.

How can we claim exemption from payment of service tax on such expense.

09 March 2010 Indirect taxes paid are allowed as deduction under income tax Act.
If u r registered with service tax or excise authorities u can claim CENVAT Credit for the same
