If a company issue debit note to the party for the rate difference, in that case whether excise duty is levy on the amount of debit note by the company, pls mention the rule or section if possible.

If raising of debit note towards rate difference is permissible as per PO, excise duty is leviable. However, it is preferable to raise supplementary invoice with debit note showing clearly Ass: value, excise details etc.
