I newly joint in partnership firm, i dont know deep knowledge regarding excise. we have taken excise certificate in Feb- 09 and we are submitting all reports & returns to excise department.
but, i dont know what is procedure of Excise AUDIT ?
is audit compulsory ? Who is appoint to auditor ? It is goverment people or private? what was iffect to excise department of audit ?

There is no esxcise audit like Tax Audit. However dept itslef conducts the audit thru its Internal Audit Party or Govt thru CAG. Both are required to follow the EA-2000 model. If you wish toknow more you may buy a commentary where there is a discussion on the same.
