06 August 2010 can a student get rank if he has failed in all subjects in ipcc first attempt?

and

will it also make him\her unable to get rank in ca final?

07 August 2010 NO, as soon as a student appeared for both the group (whether 1st time or 2nd time or otherwise), he is eligible to get rank.

this apply to both PCC (or IPCC)and Fina (old as well as New Course)

07 August 2010 means if we attempt first group in first attempt and fail in all and then appear for both in second attempt then also we can get rank if our % is 60 above

23 August 2010 numbers of attempts and percentage of marks are not consider to qualify for rank in exam.
one got rank, if his scores is among top 50 aggregate marks of complete pass student (inter/final)
