Eligibility of cenvat

24 June 2013 I have been paying service tax on a service considering it as taxable service which is actually exempt by virtue of Mega Exemption Notification. Since I used to discharge service tax liability on the same, I also used to avail CENVAT Credit on the input service for providing the said output service. Now, Since the output service is exempt but still I have discharged the liability regularly, can the availment of CENVAT stand good?

Kindly advise me on the matter detailed over (quoting case study or provision, if any)

24 June 2013 If you have paid the service tax for exempted services by mistake then cenvat credit will not be available.
