dear friends, please comment.... is it liability to file manually or efiling for persons having a salary of less than 5 lac.... of taxable income

1. If the income is less than Rs. 5 lakhs then e-filing is NOT mandatory.
2. If the income BEFORE claiming deduction under Chapter VIA (80C, 80D, etc) exceeds the maximum amount not chargeable to tax, then filing of return is mandatory for the AY 2013-14.

actually, i meant to ask.. if the returns are not filed for a salaried individual before 31st july.. i think we can file before 31-3-14... but what is the effect of the delay
