Is there any limitation of providing distinctive no.s in share certificate i.e for Rs 100000/- paid up capital it should be a lot of 500 distinctive numbers i.e from 1 to 500 (Both Inclusive)and if more paid up capital then wide range of distinctive numbers?? Is it so under companies act, 1956

No, there is no such requirement. Distinctive numbers are for each share. Say if you have paid-up capital of Rs 100000/- divided into 10000 shares of Rs 10 each, then your distinctive number will start from 1 to 10000 (both inclusive). If face value is Rs 100/- then distinctive number will be from 1 to 1000 (both inclusive) and so on.

Yes Sir, I agree about that but I am asking about the distinctive numbers to be mentioned in one share certificate Like For example if i have share capital of Rs 100000/- to be divided equally among 3 directors (1/3)Then how will you mention the distinctive numbers in one share certificate..

The Companies Act, 1956, is silent about the manner you allot distinctive number of share to all the shareholder. It depends upon your own convenience. In your case what you can allot distinctive number of shares in the following manner:- Name of the Sh No. of SH Distinctive No. Mr. A 3333 1-3333 Mr. B 33 3 3334-6666 Mr. C 3334 6667-10000
