Digital signatures are of 3 types, Class I, II & III. Its price is based on class of the certificates. Validity is from 1 to 3 years normally.

There r several companies in India issuing Digital certificates; Ex. IDRBT, TCS etc. I think Class I certificate is Rs.500/-. You visit www.idrbt.ac.in or www.idrbtca.ac.in You can get further details.
