25 August 2009 what is the difference between shareholder, member and subscriber.

tks in advance

25 August 2009 Find below the "Generally accepted meaning".

Subscriber is a person who form the company and subscribe the memorandum by signing it. Promoters are normally subscribers but it is also possible they promote the company and subscribers are some other persons.
In other words it is not necessary that promoters should be subscribers.

Member is a person who invest his funds in the company and purchase shares of the company. Subscribrs are also members of the company.

Shareholder is a person who purchase the shares of the company and his name entered in the register of member u/s 41.

Regards

25 August 2009 In other words every shareholder is the member of the company but in case of a "company without share capital" every member of the company can not be shareholder.

If u have any doubt plz post it.
