04 September 2015 We are a Religious institution (Church) registered with the Charity Commissioner and operating since 1915, we have always filled our IT returns on a regular basis and there were no queries or demands received in the past. This year we have received Demand notice under 1431a for almost 3 lakhs. which is strange considering that we function on donations received from our Members. Could some one please explain or help us in the matter.
