Kindly confirm if the deduction u/s 80CCG of up to 50% of the amount invested in eligible securities under Rajiv Gandhi Equity Savings Scheme is available to investors with GROSS TOTAL INCOME OF less than Rs.12 Lakhs or ANNUAL TAXABLE INCOME OF less than Rs.12 Lakhs.

Please clarify.

19 March 2014 Deduction u/s 80CCG is available to an individual if his GROSS TOTAL INCOME (GTI) does not exceed Rs. 10 lakhs.
