08 February 2013 hiee i am paying to municipal corporation the rent of rs 12000/-p.m.so i want to know that though we are paying it to govt.i have to deduct tds or not?

Rent paid to Government or Local Authorities and statutory Bodies whose income is exempt is outside the purview of TDS
