dealing in shares

This query is : Resolved

09 May 2009 If a company is buying and selling shares will it be treated as speculative business?

how will intra day set off without delivery of shares be treated?

does the same apply to an individual also?

please suggest quoting the appropriate sections.

10 May 2009 1. dEPENDS UPON THE NATURE OF TRANSACTION
2. INTRADAY WILL BE TREATED AS NON SPECULATIVE
3. YES

10 May 2009 I support Mr Anand.
Transactions supported with delivery - can be of two types-Non Speculative Business transactions as well as transactions related with the Investment
activity of the Company.

Transactions in derrivatives or F&O are to be treated under non-speculative business.

Please Refer Section 43(5).
