Date of signing audit report

13 December 2011 Audit report of 2007-08 of the company was not prepared yet. Now maanagment provides approved accounts to the auditor on which auditor gives an audit report on the date in 2011-12. Managment is ready to pay penalty for late filing with ROC.

Is an auditor can sign report of 2007-08 on today's date? is there any approval required ?

13 December 2011 you mean to say approval from which side? There is no problem to sign on the audit report unless there is qualifications to be mentioned in the report. The auditor can sign the same with the today's date.
