should a student join the com for training purposes.

Yes why not provided the company is registered with ICSI for imparting training. Also intimate ICSI and obtain the sponsorship letter from ICSI before joining.

sorry I mean in comparison to a pcs firm in knowledge point of view can it be good for the student?basically in a situation where best firm is very difficult to find out and appointed by them.

See exposure wise a good PCS will be better where you can learn the tricks of the trade and have variety of work but if you do MT in a good company then you will get good exposure in corporate environment.
Both have its pro and cons. If you aspire to practice in future then i will recommend to go for training under PCS but you want to do Job then opt for MT in Company where you might as well get absorbed if you perform well.
