Dear Sir,
We are manufacturing Invertor and we are supplying to governemnt agencies. We receive payment within one month after deduction of penalty for late delivery.
Can we raise credit note to the customer and reverse the sales tax amount.

yes you can issue credit note , but It will be better if you get a debit note from them
