21 October 2011 NO CPT IS NOT EXEMPT YET..IT IS PROPOSAL WHICH IS NOT PASS STILL IN PROCESSING

21 October 2011 As of Now CPT is not exempted. The formal approval has not yet been accorded by Central Govt.

Also see below link. This is the only update received so far. Which says matter is placed for Govt Approval.
