in my opinion fair treatment would be : 1. Identify Language/Script in which application is prepared e.g. Java Based,VB Based, .Net Based etc. 2. Identify as per locality, the payment made to such professional on hourly basis. 3. Determine hours spent to develop application and multiply fare rate as per point 2. If further information like Sale value, Nature of business etc. provided then something more can be suggested
