If a COP holder having his own firm joins some other firm as partner, then what will be the status of his firm ?

11 July 2015 If he joins another CA firm as a partner, there is no problem, it will continue as it is.

But if he join another firm, which is not a CA firm. He is liable to surrender the COP. Then close the CA firm.

In case he joined as an employee in a CA firm, he can continue holding the COP. But he should intimate the Institute. ALso he can not do 'attest' functions as he will be permitted to hold only Part Time COP.

I dont think if he joins company, not CA firm , he has to close his own firm.

14 July 2015 Obviously Yes.
Institute permits only paid assistants at CA firms to hold COP.
Not others.
Naturally, he has to surrender his COP and close down his CA firm.

15 July 2015 Okay. Call and confirm with the institute, if you want to confirm.
I wasted my time talking to you.
