I had discontinued my CA in 2004 after clearing my Intermediate and having given a couple of attempts at CA to focus on career . I have now reached a stage where I wish to complete the exam . Please advice the steps such that I can take up the exam in Nov 2014 or May 2015 .

It is good to hear that you want to complete your CA now. According to me you have to go for fresh registration in CA IPCC and then with fresh study material you can start your preparation. For more clarity regarding re-registration, I would advise you to visit your nearest ICAI chapter. Please find below reference books for CA IPCC:

Thank you Mr Garg. I believe I do not have to undertake the IPCC again since I have cleared CA Inter. However there seems to be a requirement to attend classes on Computers that is mandatory and also a time line by which one may attempt the finals . Are you aware of exemptions for the computer training since I have extensive understanding of systems in my work exp. if so please guide with details

I am not exactly aware about the exemption procedure regarding Computer training etc. I would suggest you to visit your nearest ICAI chapter and have a chat with ICAI officials. You can discuss all your doubts during one on one conversation. I am sure that will be good for a confident start.
