I am an working executive in Bhutan, wish to do Company Secretary course. My query is whether the study material provides by the institute is sufficient enough for preparation of examination. Further if i devote 3 to 4 hours daily in my study is it possible for me to crack the examination.
Which course is comparetively better CFA from ICFAI Vs. Company Secretary Course.
I need proper advice & guidence regarding the above mentioned matter and oblige.
For clearing any exams, self study or books, study material is not all that guarantee success, it is the interest and devotion of the individual to clear any exams. Of course, study material provides you the entire syllabus, but still refering other books, previous solved papres, regular updates helps you a lot to understand you the concept and gain expert knowledge. Also, devotion of 3 -4 Hrs a day is good. Keep on the regular study , but study with concentration and understand the concept whatever you read. You will definitely crack the exams.
For Comparison between CFA & CS, I can say that both the cousrses will give you different knowledge. If you are interested in laws and rules then, CS or LLB is good. However, if you are interetsted in investment banking or finance field then CFA is good.

In my view, study material provided by ICSI is comprehensive enough and would help you prepare for the exams. The questions would not fit exactly in the book but you need to have understanding of the subject to reply in your own words.
CFA from ICFAI is a good course. But CS would have an edge over it. This is considering the growing importance of CS and recognition given by law.
1) General and commercial law==Study Material + Scanner problems with ICSI Guidelines solutions of previous exam especially for practical problems and their presentation.
2) Company Accounts == Shukla & Grawal + Question given in Study Material
3) Cost and Mgt. Accounts == S.N. Maheshwari + Question given in Study Material
4)Company law== Munish Bhandari + Study Material + Scanner
5)Security law and compliances--Study Material + Scanner with ICSI Guidelines of previous exam
6)Economic and Labour laws.— Study Material + Scanner with ICSI Guidelines of previous exam
