rates are given in schedule-XIV of companies act & method will be ,as per the policy of the company.depreciation will be calculated on pro-rata basis.

YES MR JITENDER IS RIGHT. SCHEDULE XIV OF COS. ACT STATES THE RATES OF DEP. APPLICABLE FOR VARIOUS ASSETS. METHOD OF DEP. SHOULD BE PRORATA AND SHOULD BE CONSISTENT UNLESS A COMPANY EXPLAINS THE REASIONS FOR CHANGING THE METHOD OF DEP. R.V.RAO
