This query is : Resolved

25 July 2011 A company had eneterd into an agreement for the lease of a property. In the lease deed the company had shown an address different from that of the registered address of the company. Is this a violation of the companies Act. If so can u tell me the specific section

26 July 2011 Hi,

I don't think it is a violation. However for a company it is advisable to mention registered office in the agreement.

Wait for other opinions.

26 July 2011 There is no specific violation. But you should mention the Registered Address on any document. You may mention an additional address, but mentioning of registered address is required.

26 July 2011 Sir, Thank you very much for replying.. But dont u think it ight be a violation of section 147 of the companies act

26 July 2011 Yup...no violation of section 147. It is nothing to do with legal day to day documentation of the company.

However as said earlier it is very much advisable to mention regd address.

Rgds

26 July 2011 First of all you have to find out why the new address has been mentioned. In my opinion only the registered Office address should be mentioned in all the documents as and when executed by the company.

This is definitely violation of the companies act.
