05 March 2014 Dear All,
My friend is persuing ca IPCC in articleship0. He wanted to do further course along with ca there is confusion regarding which course to take up to add more value to his career. He is confused about CMA OR CFA.
Please suggest which is best?

05 March 2014 Both are very good.
f u want to go for job CWAs are having good scope. Scope is very less if u want to go for practice. In the current market scenario role of CWAs are not only restricted to core costing fields, they have opportunities in accounts and finance also. its tough to compare the merits and demirits. whether to go for the course or not is totally based on your current situation. If u want to do CA, u hv to do articleship, in case of CWA also articleship is there but that is not restricted to the cost accountants firms only. you can do ur training in any industry mentioned by ICWAI. overall icwa is less time consuming and market demand is good...and its increasing day by day.

A Financial Analyst is a person who performs financial analysis for external and internal clients as a core part of the job.

Financial Analysts are often employed by mutual and pension funds, hedge funds, security firms, banks, insurance companies and other businesses, helping these companies or their clients make investment decisions.

Financial Analysts employed in commercial lending firms perform balance sheet analysis, examining the audited financial statements and corollary data in order to assess the lending risks.

From education perspective, a Financial Analyst must have a college degree in business, accounting, statistics or finance. Maths, computers, and general analytical skills are the key skills.

My suggestion

As you r doing ca it will be easy to pass cwa along with ca so it is better to start first CMA along with CA then CFA
