please confirm whether we can claim excise duty on purchases before excise registration of the Factory(Manufacturing of paints) Purchases made from feb-14 but we got excise registration in April-14. Is we claim excise duty on purchases made before April-14

If that stock is available at the time of registration of excise and you will pay the excise duty on final product of that stock then you can take the cenvat credit.
