14 June 2012 Dear, experts if someone want to be a future CFO of any company then is it mandatory for him to be a CA??..Can a CMA or CFA hold this position in any company??..or is it mandatory to be a CA to be a CFO in future??.

01 March 2013 Unlike auditor and company secretary who has to be member of ICAI and ICSI respectively, there is no specific qualification mandaroy for CFO position.

However CFO shall have sound knowledge in the field of finance and general understanding on business environment, economic condition, business risk etc.

Hence in my view CMA/CFA or B.com gradutes with required skills and sound track record/experience in the relevant field can become CFO.
