Change of ITR Form: From ITR1 to ITR4

16 July 2010 How to change From ITR1 to ITR4.
In the FY 2008-09 my income was from Salary so I filed my Return in ITR1. Now in the FY 2009-10 I have income from Profession so I need to file my return in ITR4.
My question is whether I should directly file the ITR4 or is there any correspondence to be made with the department before filing the ITR4?

16 July 2010 You can directly file ur return in ITR - 4 if last years return was filed in normal ward.

However if earlier u had filed in salary ward then u will need to file a letter to transfer ur case papers from salary ward to general ward.
