If a ferro alloy manufacturer, who uses electric arc furnace, takes huge credit on copper bar presumably for manufacture of copper contact clamps for the furnace & if he has no such arrangement for moulding copper bar into contact clamps and gets it done from somewhere else without informing the department, what are the offences? Is the Cenvat credit on copper bar, already availed, is recoverable from him?

Credit cannot be denied when job outsourced. Part or whole of the job maybe outsourced by a genuine manufacturer. Also most manufacturer would not manufacture all their products but get the same manufactured by others. NO need to inform the dept after 2004.

2004 in the sense of Cenvat Credit Rules 2004? There are stipulations for such job work information perhaps with condition for return of the goods within 6 months from the date of despatch?
