can i register a company in two different state

09 March 2011 I have got a good project in the state of tamilnadu and as per them we need to have a registeration number of Tamilnadu whereas we are registered under WB-ROC. Can i apply for a new registration in the state of Tamilnadu under the same name?

09 March 2011 There will be only one registration or incorpoation for a company under the Companies Act. You can establish a branch office in another state.

What registration number you are referring to? I think the registration number referred to here is not the ROC registration number, may be some local state registration viz., VAT/CST, etc.

10 March 2011 Actually i am talking about Company registration under companies act. Currently we are registered under the state of West Bengal now due to the project we want to get our company registered under the companies act in the same name in the state of Tamilnadu. Can we do so?
