Can a Practicing C. A. become a Farmer without surrendering C.O.P.Whether any permission is to be taken for this from ICAI.

You have to look into special permission granted for by the ICAI under regulation 190A

CA PRACTICE MAY COVER ANYTHING BUT NOT FARMING ATLEAST.
IF ONE HOLDS A CERTIFICATE OF PRACTICE ,AND ALSO DOES FARMING ,HE DOES PROUD TO INDIA BEING AN AGR. COUNTRY PREDOMINANTLY(LATE STARTERS ARE SOFTWARE, HITECH,BIOTEC AND ALL TECS).IF IT IS OFFICIAL , YES HE MAY APPLY FOR ICAI APPROVAL.
OTHERWISE I AM AFRAID,WITHOUT SURRENDERING COP OR PRIOR APPROVAL OF ICAI, FULL TIME FARMING OR PART TIME FARMING IS NOT POSSIBLE.
