I am appearing for campus placement interview to be held in Aug - Sep 2011. I have gone through the details proviced on the website: http://www.cmii.icai.org/imgs/Announcement%20Campus%20AS-11_website.html
Yet I have a few queries in my mind. I will be thankful if you can solve them:
1. Do we have to choose 5 companies for interview at the time of opening of database of companies after making registration?
2. What is the meaning of shortlisting of candidates by companies in first round and second round?
3. How the campus interview is held? I mean is interview is taken in front of all other candidates in a hall or interview is taken of each separate candidates in a separate office one by one as there are many candidates for interview?
4. Do we have to stay at the place of interview till all the interviews are over and result is declared or we can leave the place after giving interview?

1. initially u get registered on cmii.icai.org then companies shortlist u ...the date is flashed in your ID when u can view the list of companies which has shortlisted u...so, in that list of companies u have to select 5 companies in which u want to appear i.e u cannot appear for more than 5 companies in one campus.
2. shortlisting is that only as mentioned above ur ID is shortlisted as the parameters of companies common parameters are no. of attempts, minimum %. etc
3. interview is held as under- in one centre all companies come....company wise the interviews are held they call the selected candidates in Lots....for Group discussions....normaly all companies conduct GDs to filter the candidates so, 15 candidates are taken at a time and they compete in a GD on a topic to b told on spot....u get just 5 mins to prepare....then 50% of students are selected for next round that is personal interview (PI)
4. campus is held day wise...so u have to sit on the venue till the results are decleared...normally results are declared on same day in the evening....
the arrangements are ok but not too good from ICAI....there is a heavy rush and tough competitions in GDs...so be prepared to face competition and have patience...
if any further query u can ask...i have appeared last campus from mumbai

I would like to fuel few more points to the above reply:
1. ICAI provides Tea and Biscuits to the candidates. 2. There is no arrangement for changing dress up etc.. 3. No Medical facility available (You may need to take few tablets for headache etc., as there will be too much rush and too much pressure) 4. Take your full file and if possible keep a small board for filling up forms etc. 5. Don't be so much frustrated there, as competition is big, you need to be just calm and cool. 6. If you can cross out GD, you will feel as a hero but never expect much, before getting any written letter. (Hint: There may be personal influences, as interviewers are from the same planet!) 7. Take water time to time to keep your body active. 8. Never indulge and share your opinions to unknowns there, as sometimes company executives of our ages comes to identify your skills.
