Ca final,ca cpt,higher pass %

This query is : Resolved

19 June 2012 Sir,

i have 3 questions

1. I was completed my CA final 2nd group in nov 2009. now iam pursuing for 1st group. please suggest me how to prepare for that group paper wise, since when ding problems in SFM and Accounts i missed some twists in the problem and also in theory especially in corporate law i donot remember the provisions.please suggest me how to prepare.

2.My wife completed her B.com and M.com with above 50% marks.now she wants to join in CA.in my thinking she was eligible for directly entering into IPCCwithout writing CPT exam. But, Last night in one TV programme I heard CA CPT exam is must for joining into CA.
Please tell me whether it is compulsory or is there any exemptions for any one.

3. I heard that in the recent exams conducted in last 5 years pass % was steeply increased and it reached morethan 35%. Whether this type of higher % will decrease the value of CA as well as career opportunities for CAs or is there any support views for higher pass %s.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully

20 June 2012 Answer to Q.2. Presently it is mandatory to clear CPT.

18 July 2024 Certainly! Here are answers to your questions:

1. **Preparing for CA Final Group 1 (Accounts and SFM):**
- **Accounts (Financial Reporting):** Focus on understanding the concepts deeply rather than just practicing problems. Ensure you cover all applicable accounting standards thoroughly. Solve past exam papers to get familiar with the types of questions asked.
- **SFM (Strategic Financial Management):** Practice is key here. Understand the various types of problems and their solutions. Identify the twists by going through detailed solutions and explanations. Review theory concepts regularly as they are crucial in SFM.

**Corporate Law:**
- Create concise notes for all important provisions and case laws. Regularly revise these notes to reinforce your memory. Solve past exam papers to get a feel for how provisions are tested in the exam.

2. **Joining CA IPCC (Intermediate) without CPT:**
- As per the ICAI regulations, candidates who have completed their graduation with specified marks (55% in commerce stream and 60% in non-commerce stream) are eligible for direct entry to the IPCC level without appearing for the CPT (Common Proficiency Test).

3. **Impact of Higher Pass Percentages on CA Profession:**
- A higher pass percentage can indicate improved teaching methodologies, better preparation strategies among candidates, or easier exam papers. This does not necessarily devalue the CA qualification. However, it might lead to increased competition in the job market as more candidates qualify as CAs.
- Ultimately, the value of a CA qualification is determined by the knowledge and skills acquired during the course and how effectively they are applied in practice.
