02 January 2011 I have completed my CPT in first attempt by scoring 123 marks. I have appeared for both the groups of IPCC in May 2010 where i got 177 marks out of 400 marks in group 1 and 110 marks out of 300 marks in group 2 as i have not prepared for group 2. I even got 57 marks in Taxation. Along with this CA course i am also doing B.com which i will be completing in May 2011.

Right now my age is 20 years. If i complete all my future CA exams in 1st attempt, i will be declared as a CA at the age of 25 years. After which either i have to go for job in any company or as a partner in any CA firm for 3-4 years. Only after which i will be able to establish my own CA firm, where their is no assurance of getting hand full of clients (no fixed income). It means at the age of 28-29 years also i wont be settled in my life.

Else if now i quit CA and enter in business or industry field where i am planning to plant a ready-made industry or any other business in large scale which can be a well established firm in a span of 5 years. So by this i will be settled in my life at the age of 25 years.

Or else i have another option of doing only ATC as it will give me double degree in one year and then entering in industry or business field.

So i request you all to please help me to choose better and best career.

Waiting for your valuable suggestions....

Thank you in anticipation.

02 January 2011 After going through the letter I sincerely feel that your performance in the first attempt is encouraging one and if you leave CA at this stage, you will curse yourself throughout the life even after you will become a successful businessman.

As far as business or industry is concerned, are you sure that till 25 you will be settled and chances of failure are NIL?

Most of the CA students belong to Medium or Upper Class families are striving hard to get their goal.

CA practice is a challenging task and in practical to run a business or industry is also not lesser challenging.

By doing ATP course, you may have a satisfaction of getting a degree but that will be a bad bargain as you will be compromising with your ambition.

The reasons for not getting success are not hidden,
as you have agreed that you have not prepared for the Second Group.

A person who is settled in life is always making himself fool. Time will come with you, you need not to run behind the time. Start the preparation honestly and get the target.

02 January 2011 A wonderful answer for a wonderful question !

Life is not pure mathematics and calculations fail many time.

That is why many businessmen fail despite having good prospects of the business.

Please read carefully answer given by Mr. Paras Bafna again.

He has given the best possible answer to choose a career rather than to leave it.

Most of the time; I have experienced that students never listen the proper guidance given by the experts and DO as they WISH.

After having an advice; they never revert back what they have decided after listening the advice !

Hope you are not among them and will write what you decide after reading the advice.

03 January 2011 Thank you very much to both Paras Sir and Surendra Sir for attending my query.

@Paras Sir: As you said in industry or in any business their are also chances of failure but i think if i give my maximum effort and do all possible ways to take that business towards a successful way, i can minimize the chances of failure. But as far as CA is concerned, if i give my 100% also i cant reduce the time span for success.

03 January 2011 Yes, now I recognized you.

You have contributed to some forums where I have described my views.

It is my firm belief that a student who can score 30% marks in any CA exams; is fit to qualify CA ultimately.

From your query I don't presume that you have no interest in CA. Your concern is to qualify it at the earliest possible.

If you have your own family business and can invest further to expand the activities then surely you can leave CA right now.

If you wish to establish your own business where not less than 3-4 family membes are there to be in the business with you; then you will find it easy to establish the business.

The decision of doing CA or to engage in business depends upon person to person. If you really have interest only in CA; then you shold do it. If you have interest only in business then surely you should do it.

Regarding CA profession it is also not so easy and regarding job; many times it is also full of stress and challenging.

And interestingly; if there are no challenges in the job; no further development in the career !

For the sake of some knowledge sharing; I would like to give you one example.

Hindalco's Chairman Shri Kumar Mangalam Birla did CA from England despite his father was a very successful businessman.

His father died soon after he completed CA. But he could manage the whole business just because he was a qualified person.

Hope you got my point.

With professional qualification you would find much easier to establish your business.

In case you don't succeed in CA; still it will help you a lot to establish your business successfully.
