C form is to be obtained from department by purchaser for inter-state purchases. Doesn't matter you concern is manufacturing or trading....if you have made a inter-state purchase then you are supposed to obtain C form from sales tax department and give it to the seller in the absence of which you would be bound to pay local tax applicable to that particular state.

Ms A Gupta, You can issue 'C' form for the machines you may require for manufacturing, for the raw materials used in production, & packing materials......MJK
