I refer to the information given by sheetal Metha of india budget 2008-09.

I believe Earlier FBT is payable on quarterly basis based on the actual expenditure incurred in that particular quarter. The due date for payment of at this stage is 15th of the subsequent month for which that particular quarter ends.

Now FBT is also payable as Advance Tax based on the estimated expenditure figures where due dates of payment is similar to that of Advance Tax payment of Income Tax.

I hope some body will correct me if I am worng.

My client has started Hotel ( Restaurant along with Lodging facility in the state of U.P.).I want to know that whther,
1) VAT Tax is applicable for such Business in U.P.? and
2) as well as Lodging Charges / Luxury Tax is applicable to my clint or not?

I am a PEII student.. I've to exhaust three attempts by May 2008 in old syllabus..I have a doubt that

1.Can I have balance of my attempts in PCC ?

2.Can I do articleship in that period ?

3.Or Do I have to re-register?

Whether there is any change in advance payment of Fringe Benefit Tax?

ICAI had recently introduced a 3 month long residential classes for final year students costing Rs. 48000.Initially this is in NCR.

a) Do you think this will gain popularity?

b) if it gains popularity, and students apply to it in large numbers; how will ICAI manage?Will there separate entrance tests with OBC reservations?

ICAI is building its new residential college in jaipur, isn't it?

c)the icai website tells that the fee is heavily subsidised. CA course is affordable to almost all section of society till now as its cost is under 25k for 3.5 yrs minimum.. Now with this new programme which costs Rs 48000 for 3 motnhs....
