Assessee in Default

sirs,
In the definition of "Assessee" it says Assesse includes
1) Deemed Assesse and
2) Assesse in default. can anyone pls elaborate on the above two with examples?

Add: VAT @4% on sub total xxx

My query is that, is VAT payment arises on Service Tax element under UP VAT Act.

In many sections of Companies Amendment Act 2006 the words Company Law Board has been replaced with the words Tribunal (with the words a date yet to be notified)
Whether Tribunal can be used instead of Company Law Board?

Investment company

Dear Member,

I would like to know if a pvt company which is basically an real estate company, invest in share of other companies for an amount of 13 crores or more (Different companies)will it be come under the preview of Investment company as per SEBI or NSDL and will it require certain formalities to be undertaken before making such investment. Plz note the other incidiental objects of MOA authorises the company to purchase share in other companies.

Hi My name is Rajneesh Jaiswal, one of my client, a proprietory concern, is making payment to a Hotel in Bangkok towards room tariff. The receipient does not have any permanent place of establishment in India. My question is whether my client is liable to deduct tax at source u/sec. 195 and which relevant provision of DTAA will be applicable to this case?
