iam opening a new branch with the same name, business just half kilometre away from my head office. so what are the forms to be submitted to VAt dept of Karnataka

03 July 2012 You have to apply for a branch registration certificate and have to get endorsement in your main KVAT RC. The normal procedure is:

1) Write a letter to your jurisdictional LVO about opening of a branch with clear address of the branch.

2) Address proof, rent agreement (if the premises is not own), municipal tax receipt

3) professional tax has to be paid for the branch also.

03 July 2012 After getting the branch verification, they will issue the branch RC and make endorsement in the original RC. Only for main RC the time limit is fixed. For branch RC, only you have to initiate with the department. But you can mention the same tin number for all the bills raised in the branch and there is no need to wait for the branch RC. In your monthly return show your additional branch also.

03 July 2012 thank you sir.. i heard that in karnataka, we need to submit the original RC after that they will endorse the brancch name and address and will give it back to us... sir is it right ?

03 July 2012 Yes, but see that you are having department acknowledgement for having received the orginal RC.
