An adjourned meeting of the Board has not been exempted from the requirement quorum. i.e 1/3 of total strength of the Board or 2 directors, whichever is higher. Holding of meeting without quorum attract penalty u/s 629A of the Act.
Instead of providing quorum for an adjourned meeting , you can opt for passing of resolution by circulation which is easier and practicable. Read section 289 for the same.
For an adjourned Board Meeting there is no relaxation in quorum requirement u/s.288 of the Companies Act, 1956.
While on the subject it's interesting to note that the Companies Act has however made a relaxation in quorum requirement in case of an adjourned General Meeting u/s. 174(5).
