13 April 2008 You have to invest around 4-5 years for CA and 3½ years for ICWA.

Articleship {Training, as you written} for 3½ year under a practicing Chartered Accountant is compulsory for doing CA.

In place you can go for "Accounting Technician" course, which is to be started from this 22nd of April.

14 April 2008 YES FOR DOING C.A AS PER NEW REGULATIONS NOW APPLICABLE ,YOU NEED TO BE AN ARTICLED CLERK TRAINEE UNDER A PRACTICING C.A AFTER PASSING C.A INTER FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS.
TO DO ANY OTHER COURSE SIMULTANEOUSLY (INCL. ICWAI), YOU NEED PERMISSION OF
1.YOUR C.A UNDER WHOM YOU SERVE ARTICLES TRAINING
2.THE INSTITUTE OF C.As OF INDIA
