pls help me out on this matter. we (co.) have received a service from an unregistered service provider that comes under REVERSE CHARGE SCHEME. now my query is..... 1)wether we r resposible for paying whole service tax or the part, ie.,60%...etc. 2) wether we r eligible to claim CENVAT CREDIT or not.

U are not eligible to claim the cenvat credit for the service received from Unregistered service provider. Before paying any service tax, ensure that service tax number is mentioned in the invoice or bill. Paying of whole ST or part ST depends on whether Service provider is registered or not.
