Isn't necessary to get the signature of principal(auditor in which we are doing articleship) or we can go for other member of the institute.

11 December 2016 During the articleship, from employer only; afterward from any Chartered Accountant.

13 December 2016 Yes, till you complete your articleship training, you are required to obtain signature of the Principal under whom your registered. Post articleship training, a signature from a CA who is holding valid Certificate of Membership can sign your exam application. Even Gazetted Officers, Bank Managers, MP or MLa or Magistrate can attest your examination application.
