Attandance for nov 14 ipcc exams for all subjects compulsory?

30 October 2014 hi i am an ipcc student appearing for nov 14 exams. this is my first attempt.though i applied for all the papers due to some reasons i prepared for only paper 6,7. is it necessary to appear for all the papers?if i dont appear for papers 1,2,3,4,5 will my exam be invalid? in this case what are my passing marks as i am appearing for only paper 6,7? thank you

30 October 2014 you would have known answer to this question had you read ICAI rules properly.

you need to apepar in a full group to pass it. appearing in two papers is of no use.

30 October 2014 Not to pass but to be eligible for exemption. If you dont appear in a full group you can no way pass since you will be fail in the paper in which you did not appear but the main thing is that you will also not be able to claim exemption if you score 60 or above in the paper in which you appeared. So ultimately its of no use if you don't appear in full group.

30 October 2014 oh..really thanks a lot for your reply.so i came to a clarity that inorder to either pass or claim exemption i need to apper for paper 5,6,7. till now i didnot even touch either accounts or advanced accounts. can you please suggest me which chapters to prepare or the order of preperation for getting atleast minimum marks in avanced accounting. i can allocate only 114 hrs for that subject...i dont have any much time for that subject.

and also i specially thank you mr.nikhil kaushik.
you helped a lot in micro economics in my cpt exam(dec 13)
and you are helping me even now.
thank you again..!

02 November 2014 Yes to secure exemption you have to appear in all the papers of the same group.
