AS-20 EPS

This query is : Resolved

14 May 2009 I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHETHER THE PROPOSED DIVIDEND WILL BE DEDUCTED TO FIND OUT THE EPS?BECAUSE TO FIND OUT THE EPS WE REQUIRED PROFIT AVAILABLE TO THE EQ. SHARE HOLDERS AND PROPOSED DIDVIDEND IS ALSO BE PAID TO EQ. SHARE HOLDERS.WHAT WILL BE THE EFFECT OF GENERAL RESESRVE IN CASE OF CALCULATION OF EPS?

14 May 2009 Proposed Equity dividend should not be considered for the calculation of Earnings Per Share (EPS). The EPS derives the per share earnings available to the Equity shareholders. So obviously, profit after tax after preferred dividends (i.e. Preference dividend) should be considered.
No effect of General Reserve incase of calculation of EPS.
