18 August 2014 I am in my FIRST YEAR OF ARTICLESHIP and I badly want to take a transfer.

But my Principal is just not allowing.

Could you please help me.
Only 1 month is left and then my 2nd yr will begin.

18 August 2014 Is mutual consent really required. Is there no other way ???

But then I read somewhere
As per regulation 56(1) of The Chartetred Accountant Regulation,1988 shall be permissible as per the grounds as stated below: 1) Transfer of articles is permitted without any restriction during the first year of articles.

18 August 2014 Well! yes mutual consent is required.
What you mentioned about transfer is true but still atleast consent of principal is required.ICAI will not intervene in this issue.Maintain cordial relation with your CA and try to speak to other seniors of your firm.
If nothing works then you can go for secondment of articles and industrial training.
