Applicability of service tax to deemed universities

04 November 2012 I would like to know the latest updates of applicability of service tax provisions to the deemed universities.

Is there any specific exemptions to these universities under any notifications?

04 November 2012 If the course provided by these universities is recognised under any Law, then no service tax payable

04 November 2012 But if the institute / deemed university is recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, even then service tax provisions are not applicable to it?
