01 March 2013 WHether excise duty is payable on jaggery?
If yes, at what rate? I am asking this query specifically because lot of manufacturers are not paying excise duty on removal of jaggaery from their factory.

02 March 2013 Excise duty is applicable at the rate of 12% on jaggery under chapter heading 17011310. SSI exemption is available to all unit upto the 1.5cr.
