Dear Sir,
i would like to add an addl. service category to the my existing service tax list.
I wanted to know whether I can access the access the ACES website and add new service by using complete amend registration tab without further documentation submission with CBEC dept.

While the amendment to ST - 1 can be done online, as per CBEC (Service Tax Wing) Order No. 01 / 2015 - Service Tax dated 28 - 02 - 2015, hard copy of the application along with specified required documents should be submitted to the jurisdictional AC / DC within seven days of e-filing of ST - 1. Therefore in your case a hard copy of the amended ST - 1 (other documents are not needed) along with a covering letter highlighting the reason for amendment should be submitted to the jurisdictional AC / DC within 7 days. Otherwise the Department has the right to cancel the amended ST - 2 on a mere technical default.
