Would any one Explain me What type of books ,register, are maintain in the bank for keeping records upto date and fast entries , provide some example or weblink to article and refrences etc ?



What is control account ?

11 November 2008 In the light of extensive computerisation, the e-records must have changed the type of records. Can any learned member who is in bank or who does bank audit help?

11 November 2008 In the manual system of accounting, the ledgers are updated and then primary books are updated after the business hours. The following books are maintained by the banks:

1. Individual Ledgers. such as Savings, Current A/c, CC, Term Loan, Overdraft, ATL, ACC, RD, FD, SFD,PPF
2.General Ledger
3.Long Books
4.Day Book
5. Progressive
6.Balance books
7. Charges Register
8. Weekly
9.Dead Stock Ledger(Fixed asset Register)
10. Stationery Ledger
11. Security Stationery Register
12. Cheque Book Issue Register
13. Draft Issue Register
14. Inward Biils Register
15. Outward Bill Register
16. Safe Custody Register
17. Title Deed register
18. Inspection Book
19. Legal cases Files
20. Individual Files of borrowers
21. AOF
22. Record Register
23. Salary Sheets
24. Discretionery powers
25. Control Returns
and many other subsidiary records

In the computerised systems all above records are maintained in the electronic form except the hard copies of documents executed and applied by the parties.
