purchases of f.yr.08-09 is exceeding rs.40 lakh then vat audit is applicable . please tell me who will do vat audit and what are the legal provisions that are attached to it and what points must be kept in mind now.

U/s 61 Vat Audit must be conducted by Accountant earlier Accountant defifnition include only "Practicing Chartered Accountant" but as per Amendment Vat Act of Almost All States it also incluedes "Practicing Cost Accountant (now CMA)"
